Family Gateway Project 
We are re-working the Children's Room at the Family Gateway center in downtown Dallas. We will transform their current room into a more pre-school style learning center for the children of the families who are clients at Family Gateway. These families are homeless and working on turning their life around to break the cycle of homelessness. The teachers and caregivers at Family Gateway use this room to provide necessary childcare so parents can find work and get their family back on track. Since we are (or have been)parents of pre-school age children, this project is all near and dear to our hearts, as we understand the need for young children to have a safe, warm, and nurturing environment.
For our Children's Room project, we need both monetary donations and new/gently used items.

These donations will be used on the following types of needs:
Paint (900 sq ft coverage): $450
Paint Supplies (brushes/rollers/drops/tape): $100
Rugs/pads for Activity Centers (4): $1600
Secure Storage Cabinets (6): $1800
Entry Locker Cubbies: $1200
Storage Cubes/Baskets 4 centers: TBD
Between now and Dec 21st, you can drop off any of the items listed below to one of the following addreses between 7am and 7pm each day. We will run another drop off drive between Jan 2nd and Jan 15th. We will send updates to our needs list as certain categories "close out".

- Dress up clothes (boys & girls)
- Strollers for babydolls
- *Any items that are associated with domestic play for preschool boys/girls
- Comfy loveseat/Chairs (we can reupholster a donation if necessary)
- Leapfrog/Anyother reputable brand reading aids
- Reading books for beginners-kindergarden level
- Letter Puzzles/Alphabet/Word Puzzles
- *Any additional reading aids/items members would like to donate
- Construction//Craft paper stock
- Children s Paints/brushes
- *Any other creative items members want to donate
- 4 Vibrating chairs/infant seats
- Age Appropriate Earth/Science/Math Toys & Puzzles
- Age Appropriate Earth/Science/Math books
- Toddler National Geographic Subscriptions
- *Any other age appropriate science/math discovery toys members would like to donate
- Screen to separate space
- Portable potty training potty (one boy/one girl?)
- Potty training books/aids
- Stool for sink (kids can wash hands themselves)
- Comfy kids seating (little plush armchairs)/no beanbags for safety reasons
